On December 20th, 2023, these exceptional student-athletes signed their National Letters of Intent (NLI), solidifying their commitment to the next chapter of their academic and athletic journeys.
Leading the group is tight end Davon Mitchell, who accepted and committed to his scholarship offer at the University of Oklahoma. Mitchell’s stellar contributions to the Los Alamitos football program have earned him recognition as the Sunset League “Offensive Player of the Year.” His signing with the Sooners marks a significant achievement and the continuation of his promising football career.
Defensive back Isaiah Rubin, a 4-star talent, has committed to the University of Southern California (USC). Rubin’s exceptional skills in the secondary contributed to his recognition as the Sunset League “Defensive Back of the Year.” His commitment to USC reflects his dedication to excellence on and off the field.
Linebacker Kamar Mothudi has chosen the University of Oregon to further his academic and athletic pursuits. Mothudi’s impact as a linebacker for Los Alamitos earned him accolades, and his commitment to the Ducks signals a bright future in collegiate football.
Strong safety Foster Slaughter will be taking his talents to Utah Tech, committing to the Utes’ football program. Slaughter’s tenacity and skill at strong safety have been key components of Los Alamitos’ success, and his commitment to Utah Tech marks an exciting next step in his athletic journey.
Wide receiver Hayden Eligon II has committed to Northwestern University, showcasing his commitment to both academic and athletic excellence. Eligon’s performances on the field have earned him recognition, and his commitment to Northwestern reflects his determination to succeed at the collegiate level.
Notably, many of these scholar-athletes have chosen to graduate early and will be starting their college journeys in the spring semester. Their success on the football field is complemented by their dedication to academic excellence, emphasizing the well-rounded nature of these young men.
