LOS ALAMITOS FOOTBALL

Los Alamitos High School is a place where students have an opportunity to succeed in all aspects of life. The school established in 1967 has had a long history of progress. For decades the football program has lead a tradition of success. A program with four CIF Championships (’91, ’92, ’93, ’02) and twenty four league championships (Listed below).

  • 1 Orange League (’69)
  • 8 Empire League (’76, ’85, ’87, ’88, ’89, ’91, ’92, ’93)
  • 15 Sunset League (’94, ’96, ’98, ’99, ’01, ’02, ’03, ’04, ’08, ’10, ’14, ’17, ’18, ’20, ’21)

Student Athletes throughout this history from the football program have led the tradition of earning scholarships to continue playing football in college and nine young men made the rosters on NFL teams.

The Griffins have been led by Frank Doretti (1969-1973), Jim Rodarte (1974-1977), Gary Swanson (1978), John Barnes (1979-2015), and Ray Fenton (2016-Present).
